Free Concerts for the Rest of the Summer in NYC

Looking for something to do this weekend? Check out these free NYC concerts, coming up this fall. These events are the perfect way to bring some excitement to your weekend. 

Sept 9: Michael Olatuja and Lagos Pepper Soup at Times Square (Carnegie Hall CityWide)

As part of the Carnegie Hall Citywide concert series, performer-composer Michael Olatuja will be performing selections from his latest album Lagos Pepper Soup accompanied by a full band in Times Square Friday, September 9 starting at 7 PM. This free concert is just one of many being held by Carnegie Hall in collaboration with local community organizations through the end of September. Don’t miss out on a night of funk, jazz, and Afrobeats in the heart of NYC!

September 10th: Mary Lamont Band at Cornelia Avenue and Chester Avenue (in Wolfe's Pond Park), Staten Island

Come see MaryLamont and her band play country classics in Staten Island on September 10th. They will be playing original music, as well as classic country. Head to Staten Island for a night full of dancing, singing, and awesome country vibes. 

Sep 10: Sybarite5 at Governors Island (Rite of Summer Music Festival)

Head on over to NYC’s music festival hotspot, Governors Island, and check out an afternoon performance by Sybarite5 on September 10 at 1 PM or 3 PM at Nolan Park Lawn. Sybarite5’s September 10th performances close out the Rite of Summer Music Festival’s 11th season. The festival aims to increase access to contemporary classical music by providing free outdoor concerts throughout the summer. Sybarite5 will be performing selections from their recent #1 album that is sure to get audiences of all ages excited about traditional and classical music!

September 26th: Skip Marley at at Rumsey Playfield (in Central Park), Manhattan

Skip Marley, jamaican singer songwriter, and grandson of Bob Marley, will be in New York City performing! This concert is free and open to the public as a part of Marley’s ongoing Change Tour. Skip will be joined by DJ Norie, Mannywellz, and Marzz. Check out his amazing set in Central Park.
